Decluttering and staging your home takes work but is well worth it in the end. A fresh coat of paint, inside and out, is almost mandatory as is a well-manicured yard. Your lawn is that all-important first impression to a prospective buyer.
- Arrange to be elsewhere when your agent shows the property. This applies to your pets also.
- If you are selling a condominium, obtain the covenants and restrictions as well as other pertinent documents (offering plan, prospectus, three years’ financials, co-op/condo guidelines, etc.) from the property manager.
- Select an experienced real estate attorney you know and trust to represent your interests.
